Finding Federal Acts on Member Databases

The following member databases include access to public laws and/or the Statutes at Large. Members must be logged in to jenkinslaw.org to access these databases. These databases are also available in the library. Coverage varies by database. See below for more details.

Member Databases

Public Laws of the United States
Available on Fastcase (available for law firms with less than 50 attorneys). To access on Fastcase: Under the main search bar, select Browse Libraries. In the left column under Primary Material  > Legislative Materials click the magnifying glass icon next to United States Public Laws. Current Congressional Session only.

Archived Editions also available. Under the main search bar, select Browse Libraries. In the left column under Primary Material  > Legislative Materials click the three lines next to United States Public Laws. Covers 1989 through 2022.

Public and Private Laws of the United States
Available on HeinOnline. Coverage begins with 112th Congress (2011-2012).

U.S. Statutes at Large
Available on HeinOnline. Coverage begins with vol. 1 (1789-1799). Can browse by Volume, Popular Name, Public Law Number, Indian Treaties, or Other Treaties. The U.S. Statutes at Large Collection also includes Early Federal Codes & Compilations of Statutes and Other Related Works.

Statutes at Large
Available on LLMC Digital. Coverage begins with vol. 1 (1776-1799). Once in LLMC Digital, select U.S. Federal Government > Legislative > U.S. Laws (by date) > 1776-,U.S. Statutes at Large

Public Laws
Available on ProQuest Congressional.
Coverage begins with 1901. To find a public law by P.L. number, use Search by Number. To find a public law by keyword, use Advanced Search.

Statutes at Large
Available on ProQuest Congressional.
Coverage begins with 1789. To search by volume/page or by chapter, use Search By Number. Keyword searching in Basic and Advanced Search will retrieve relevant Statutes at Large sections.
