About SEC Company Filings

The SEC provides access to company filings in its EDGAR system. EDGAR is searchable on SEC.gov. Jenkins Bloomberg Law subscription also includes EDGAR filings. See below for more details.

For information about SEC forms and preparation, see the SEC Forms page of this guide.

Finding SEC Company Filings

EDGAR Search U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
Full text and advanced searching available. Coverage begins with 2001. Historical archive search (beginning with 1994) also available.

Pre-EDGAR filings can be difficult to find. Researchers may want to try fee-based services like Refinitiv On Demand and LexisNexis Intelligize. Filings may also be requested from the SEC.

EDGAR Search
Available on the library's Bloomberg Law computer (found on the homepage under "Popular Links").
The EDGAR database contains submissions by companies and others who are required by law to file forms with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and includes Registrations & Prospectuses, Periodic Reports & Disclosure, Proxy & Information Statements, Tender Offers, Securities Ownership & Trading, Investment Companies, Transfer Agents, Staff Comment Letters and Miscellaneous Filings. Coverage of EDGAR filings runs from 1994 to current (with certain earlier filings included as well).
