The following Philadelphia laws (ordinances) may help you get started on your research.

Finding PA Laws (Statutes) on Landlord Tenant Issues

Statutes are laws (or acts) that are passed by the legislature. Before they are passed, they are called bills. In PA, the legislature is called the PA General Assembly

The following Pennsylvania statutes may help you get started on your research. Other PA statutes might also apply to your situation.  

Unofficial Purdon's Pennsylvania Statutes (Westlaw)

  • 68 P.S. Real and Personal Property, Chapter 8: Landlord and Tenant (68 P.S. §§ 250.101 - 399.19) 
    • Includes the Landlord and Tenant Act of 1951 (68 P.S. §§ 250.101 - 250.602) 
  • 43 P.S. Labor, Chapter 17: Pennsylvania Human Relations Act (PHRA) (43 P.S. §§ 951 - 963)
    • Addresses discrimination, including discrimination related to housing.
